- After we have received your enrolment form we will send you information on how to pay the deposit or full fees – you should pay the deposit as soon as possible.
- We will confirm your course after receipt of the deposit, and then we will arrange homestay if required.
- You should pay the balance of fees by the start of the course. If you are booking a long-term course, eg 6 months, CLS can make an agreement with you on paying your fees in monthly instalments during the course.
- It is your responsibility to obtain a visa or ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) before you travel.
- All courses are offered subject to demand and we reserve the right to cancel or alter any course. If we do so, we will make every effort to offer you an alternative course.
- If your English level is too low for the course you have booked, we reserve the right to move you onto a different course if one is available. If we cannot accept you for any course due to your level we will refund your fees and signpost you to a different school which can accept beginners.
- We reserve the right to change teachers at any time during your course.
- If you are dissatisfied with your course or any aspect of the services offered by CLS, you must bring that dissatisfaction to the attention of the Director of Studies or Business Manager as soon as possible in order that a solution may be found without delay.
- We expect every student to be on time, attend every lesson and do all their homework. We keep attendance registers and latecomers may not be allowed into class. Students only receive a leaving certificate if class attendance has been 80% or more.
- If you miss 1 day class, we cannot give a refund or allow you to take the lesson at another time.
- If you miss a whole week (Monday-Friday) due to illness, we will not charge tuition fees for that week, but offer an extra week instead.
- If you know in advance that you plan to take a break, please take 1 or 2 whole weeks and let us know the dates in advance. You will not be charged tuition fees.
- The school expects all students to behave respectfully at all times towards other students, school staff, homestay hosts and other users of the building. We expect students to respect cultural, racial and religious differences.
- In the case of serious misconduct, we reserve the right to refuse admission to any student or to dismiss any student from school or homestay without refund of tuition/homestay fees.
- We may use film or still photographs of students for promotional purposes or for our Social media. You will be asked to inform us on the first day of your course if you will not allow us to use such images.
- We keep our students’ personal information in electronic and paper format. Some of the personal information you supply will be passed on to homestay providers. We will not pass on the information to other third parties.
- In order to fulfil our obligations to you, (and the British authorities), we ask to see your passport (and visa if applicable). We also request your mobile phone details and details of your next of kin (closest family member) in your country. You must agree to provide these details and keep them up to date if they change.
- Students should inform us at the time of enrolment of any necessary medical information and to enquire prior to enrolling whether the school and homestay facilities are suitable for the individual’s needs. Students should also inform us of any particular dietary needs if booking homestay.
Cancellation of your enrolment
If you wish to cancel your course/homestay, you must inform us by email.
- If you cancel two weeks or more before the course begins, we will return all fees except the deposits.
- If you cancel less than two weeks before the course begins we will return 50% of all fees.
- If your application for a UK Visa is unsuccessful we will return all fees except the course and accommodation deposits, on receipt of the official Visa Refusal Notice.
- We do not return any money if you cancel after the start of the course.
- Insurance is not included in our fees. We recommend that you arrange your own insurance to cover you for cancellation or withdrawal from a course due to illness or other compelling reasons and to cover you for medical expenses in the UK.
- Refunds will be made only to the person from whom we received the fees. Refunds can only be made to you if you originally paid the fees directly to CLS yourself, and not via an agent. All refunds will be made to the original payer’s bank account or credit card.
- Any bank or other charges payable will be deducted from the money refunded to you.
