Some students need to take an exam for their work or education.
While we do not provide specific exam preparation courses, we have helped students to get the scores they need in the IELTS and Cambridge exams (see below). We can also advise students on the best exam for them.
If you would like to assess your approximate level now, The Cambridge Assessment website offers a short test, see this link: Cambridge English test. This test only gives an approximate guide. We will also assess your level when you arrive at the school and assess your progress during your course.
Some students choose to take one of the exams below:
- B1 Preliminary/PET (Intermediate level)
- B2 First/FCE (Upper intermediate level)
- C1 Advanced/CAE
- C2 Proficiency/CPE
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Often used for entry to universities. Find out which level you need for your choice of university (students normally need a score of between 5.5 and 7.5, depending on the place of study).
For more information on the exams, and dates for this year, please contact us. If you are taking an exam:
- Some exam preparation can take place in your classes but exam students will also need to do their own preparation.

- Students can have a practice of the speaking part of their exam with a teacher a few weeks before their exam date.
