Students who wish to spend more time learning English can enrol on the Intensive English course (21 hours a week).
Students on this course will join the General English classes in the morning and then attend afternoon classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 14.00 to 16.00.
This course gives students a balance of speaking, listening, reading and writing as well as developing your grammar and vocabulary, all with a focus on communicating successfully. We use coursebooks as well as other materials, which we will provide.
Students valuate their progress through short weekly tests. We also invite feedback from students, which we use to plan the next week’s lessons.
The afternoon element of this course aims to improve speaking and listening skills and build students’ vocabulary. We also support students who are studying for the IELTS and Cambridge exams (e.g. B2 First, C1 Advanced). A typical week in the afternoons may include:
- Understanding natural English.
- Taking part in a debate.
- Learning and using words and phrases on different topic areas, e.g. travel, food, work and education.
- Practising speaking and listening parts of the IELTS and Cambridge exams
All full-time students receive a certificate at the end of their course and those studying two weeks or more also receive a report, with advice on further development.
We do not offer Intensive English for students who are Pre-Intermediate level or below.
